Real Madrid was under the coaching of Carlo Ancelotti in two stages, from 2013-2015 and 2021-2025. His tenure yielded 15 titles in six seasons with the club, making him the most successful coach in its history.

During his time at the club, the 66-year-old coach had the opportunity to train some of the team's biggest stars, but also to deal with their egos. However, he highlighted the personalities of two of them and mentioned how they contributed to the club.

Ancelotti highlights two players after his time at Real Madrid.

In his recent appearance on the podcast "The Rest is Football," the Italian coach recalled his days at Real Madrid and what it was like to deal with figures such as Cristiano Ronaldo:

"And I have to say, it's not difficult to manage the top players because usually the top players are the most professional players. Yeah, serious professionals. I can say one of the best professional players was Cristiano Ronaldo. Big ego, strong personality," Ancelotti said via United in Focus.

However, he also compared CR7's personality to that of current C. F. Monterrey defender, Sergio Ramos:

"Another player with [a] big ego and [a] strong personality was Sergio Ramos, for example. But he is a good ego for the team," he said.

CR7 was presented at the Santiago Bernabéu on July 6, 2009, and from then until his departure in 2018, he made thousands of people cheer his goals on 451 occasions, establishing himself as the franchise's top scorer. After joining Juventus and spending three years there, in mid-2021 he decided to return to Manchester United, but in early 2023 he moved to Saudi Arabia and joined Al Nassr, where he currently plays.

Ramos was already at Real Madrid when Cristiano arrived. He played as a defender for the team for 16 seasons, from 2005 to 2021, scoring 101 goals and winning 22 titles.

Meanwhile, after his second stint at the club which ended in May 2025, Ancelotti was appointed as coach of the Brazilian national team and is preparing for the 2026 World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States, which will be played from June 11 to July 19.
