Inter were handed their first defeat of the Serie A season on Friday night, as Luis Alberto's rocket from distance helped Lazio claim a 3-1 victory.

Simone Inzaghi's men entered the match on full points following their opening two matches, but that's over now following an impressive showing from Maurizio Sarri's side.

After Inter started more strongly, it was Lazio who had the first real chance of the night. The ball fell to Ciro Immobile in the penalty area, but his scuffed effort went just wide of the far post.

It was a sign of things to come as Lazio opened the scoring with five minutes left in the half. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic picked out Felipe Anderson with a delightful driven pass, and the Brazilian reacted to it faster than the Inter defence, before heading home to the delight of the home fans.

However, Inter levelled the score minutes after the restart through Lautaro Martinez. Denzel Dumfries knocked back a Federico Dimarco freekick, and the Argentine was there to flick it in from six yards out.

Inzaghi's men nearly took the lead soon after when Dumfries was left unmarked, however his header was expertly palmed over by Ivan Provedel. It proved costly for Inter, as Lazio took the lead with 15 minutes remaining thanks to a stunning effort from Luis Alberto.

The Spaniard hit Pedro's pull back first time from the edge of the box, with the ball flying into the far top corner and leaving Samir Handanovic with no chance.

With Inter pushing for an equaliser, Pedro made it three for Lazio. The substitute curled a strike into the far corner to wrap up proceedings, and secure three deserved points for the home side.
