Lazio humbled Serie A champions AC Milan by beating the Rossoneri 4-0 on Tuesday night at the Stadio Olimpico.

The goals came raining in from Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Mattia Zaccagni, Luis Alberto and Felipe Anderson with two on either side of the half-time whistle.

It only took four minutes for Maurizio Sarri's side to take the lead as they carved their way through an underperforming Milan defence and saw the Serbian slot a low shot into the bottom corner.

That set the tone for the evening in Rome and Lazio looked as though they would score with every attack.

The second goal came when Adam Marusic made his way into the box and hit the post, only for the ball to ricochet off of Zaccagni and into the back of the net. That made it 2-0 at half-time.

Milan started the second half with a lot more intent, but then in the 67th minute, Pierre Kalulu was penalised for a foul in the box and Alberto stepped up to score from the spot and ensure that the points would be staying in Rome rather than heading north.

That third goal seemed to take all of the stuffing out of Stefano Pioli's side and Anderson was soon able to easily make it 4-0 as he slotted past Ciprian Tatarusanu from close range.

The introduction of players like Divock Origi, Alexis Saelemaekers and Charles De Ketelaere made no impact for the Diavolo earlier in the half and Pioli must be left feeling that he has no firepower from the bench when his team needs it.

The win launches Lazio from seventh in the Serie A table to third, whilst Milan stay in second place but are 12 points back from leaders Napoli.
