Phil Foden broke Arsenal hearts within 77 seconds as he put Man City 1-0 ahead against West Ham on the final day.

The attacking midfielder netted a stunning goal to set Pep Guardiola's side on their way to a fourth successive Premier League title.

Ahead of the action, City needed a win to lift the trophy, while the Gunners had to pick up three points while relying on the reigning champions to lose or draw.

However, despite high expectations and hopes at the Emirates, the mood was quickly quashed when Foden thumped in a sensational effort from outside the box in the second minute.

Several Arsenal fans were seen checking the score on their phones as news filtered through of Foden's opener, with many looking demoralised.

Meanwhile, others took to X to bemoan their title rivals heading into the lead so early.

One said: 'Glad the hope of City losing lasted less than 1 minute,' as another added: '1 minute in. Didn't even give us any hope.'

A further fan chimed in with: 'Phil Foden already?', as more supporters expressed their frustration.

An extra one said: 'I’ve never liked Phil Foden,' as one other quipped: 'The hope West Ham could get something lasted all of 2 minutes! Ffs Up the Gunners!'

A final downtrodden fan said: 'West Ham were never going to get anything against city, even if their lives depended on it, worst defence we’ve played against all season by a country mile.'

Foden quickly made it two as he swept home Jeremy Doku's cross to lift the roof off The Etihad.

However, Mohammed Kudus  pulled a goal back on the stroke of half-time to give Gunners fans hope and lift the atmosphere again at the Emirates.
