Jude Bellingham got the winning goal as as Real Madrid won the Clasico to move 11 points clear of Barcelona in La Liga.

It’s now just a matter of time before the England midfielder is crowned La Liga champion in his first season at the club.

There are six games left to play and Real Madrid can even ease up in the domestic competition and concentrate on their Champions League semi-finals against Harry Kane’s Bayern Munich.

Barcelona made the perfect start when Andreas Christensen headed in Raphinha’s corner after just six minutes. The former Chelsea cenrtre-back was given space at the back post by his marker Toni Kroos and he headed past Andriy Lunin.

Real Madrid levelled when Pau Cubarsi brought down Lucas Vazquez and Vinicius slammed the penalty past Marc Andre ter Stegen ending a run of 600 minutes without conceded. Lucas had skipped past Joao Cancelo and then drawn the foul from the 17-year-old defender making his Clasico debut.

Barcelona thought they had retaken the lead when Raphinha’s corner was flicked goalwards by Lamine Yamal. The 16-year-old celebrated but La Liga does not have the chip in the ball to determine whether all of it crossed the line and so without a clear replay it was not given.

Barcelona went back in front in the second half when substitute Fran Lopez scored. But the lead lasted just five minutes because Lucas Vazquez slammed in the second home team equalizer and left Barcelona again chasing the game – they had to win it to stand any chance of forcing the title race into the last weeks of the season.

With both sides drained from their Champions League exerts in midweek it looked as is it would end as a draw but Bellingham legs don’t know when to stop running.
