  • Brazilian star Neymar was regularly tipped for a move to England in his career
  • Now, a former Premier League star has named the one team he should join

A former Premier League star has named the one English top-flight club that he thinks Neymar should join this summer.

Brazilian star Neymar called an end to his time in European football last summer after joining Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal in a stunning £78million move

The 32-year-old is well regarded as one of football's best talents in the past decade but, unfortunately for English fans, never played in the Premier League.

However, that dream is not over as now a former top-flight star has suggested that Neymar should make a stunning move to England this summer.

In an interview courtesy of Bet365’s Copa America coverage, ex-Arsenal star Gilberto Silva said: 'I'd love to see Neymar in the Premier League with Arsenal, it would be interesting that's for sure.

Silva, who made 170 appearances for the Gunners, finished by saying: 'Let's see. It's not impossible that he could join Arsenal, why not.'

Neymar, when he was at Barcelona in 2017, previously admitted he admired the Gunners and named them among four Premier League teams he'd be open to joining.

The other three teams that Neymar named were Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea.

However, a move didn't materialise at the time and instead the Brazilian winger opted to join French giants Paris Saint-Germain in a world-record £198m deal.

Having spent four years in Spain with Barcelona, Neymar then stayed in Paris for six seasons where he scored 118 goals and recorded 77 assists across 173 games.

Though he never played in the Premier League, the Brazilian recently tipped one of his compatriots to shine once they complete a move to England next summer.

Last week, Chelsea announced the signing of Estevao Willian from Palmeiras, although he will not move to Stamford Bridge until next year.

The 17-year-old - who will be 18 when he comes to England - will cost £28 million, taking Chelsea's overall spending on teenage signings during the Todd Boehly era to £250m.

He has been widely tipped as a future star at both club and international level, including by former Brazil captain Neymar.

Neymar was asked in a recent interview with TNT which player among Brazil's current generation of young stars made him the most excited.

Explaining his choice, Neymar added: 'He is a great talent that is emerging in Brazilian football today. I think he's going to be a genius.'
