Mohammed Kudus breathed new life into Arsenal's fading Premier league title hopes by cutting West Ham's against Manchester City in acrobatic fashion.

The Gunners came into the final day of the campaign knowing they need to better Pep Guardiola's side's result to lift their first top-flight title in 20 years.

But pre-match optimism was dashed when the defending champions raced to a two goal lead in the first 20 minutes of their Etihad contest.

Meanwhile, at the Emirates, Arsenal had gone a goal behind to Everton thanks to a deflected free-kick by Idrissa Gueye. But the mood in north London would quickly change as Takehiro Tomiyasu grabbed an equaliser.

Before Kudus produced a stunning bicycle kick to bring the Hammers to within one of their hosts.

Gunners supporters could be seen rejoicing when word reached them of the Ghanaian's reply on Sunday afternoon.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed a superb debut season in London, leading to reports of a summer move away from West Ham.

Kudus' strike was only the second effort David Moyes' side could muster in the first-half of the game. By contrast, City had 15 shots and forced Alphonse Areola into action on 10 occasions.

Guardiola's side are looking to become the first team in top-flight history to win four league titles in a row. They were set on their way by a brace from the newly crowned Football Writer's Player of the Year, Phil Foden.
