Manchester United are considering releasing a behind-the-scenes film that documents the club's partial takeover by the Sir Jim Ratcliffe-owned Ineos. 

Ratcliffe's bought a minority 27.7 stake in the Glazer family-owned club in February 2024, with Ineos taking charge of football operations as a stipulation of the deal.

The British multinational is looking to revive the fortunes of the UK's most succesful football club, and has began by introducing a new footballing hierarchy, investment in the team, and considerable cost-cutting measures. 

Now, according to The Times, Ineos bosses are exploring the idea of bringing their journey so far to life, by releasing a docuseries, similar to the popular Amazon Prime All or Nothing show.

They have so far committed to the idea of documenting it in an official book.

The decision could be part of wider a public relations push, as the club looks to bring fans closer back to the club – and give a warmer impression of its new-look management, after a decade of fractious relations with the incumbent Glazers.

Recent headlines surrounding the club have not being entirely positive, with a focus on its operational restructuring that's revealed up to 250 backroom staff with be made redundant. 

Ineos is exploring the possibility of ­releasing a behind-the-scenes film on Manchester United as it documents its journey following the partial takeover.

The club has so far resisted the temptation to make a documentary, or any kind of insider-style reveal-all content, having reportedly turning away proposals from outsider production companies in the past.

Ratcliffe's own personal video diaries have given fans insight into the takeover so far, and their popularity could be an indication it's a good time to release a full production. 

United's own TV station, MUTV, has been a pioneer in the realm of club TV, and has been considered effective in bridging the gap between fan and club.

Meanwhile, the refurbishment of the club's Carrington training ground – and any potential redevelopment of Old Trafford – could make rich content fans would clamour to see.

So far, the club will begin by releasing a book, to be penned by Times' former chief sports writer, Matt Dickinson.
