Former FC Dallas right back Reggie Cannon could be on the move once again. The 22-year-old US men's national team right back joined Boavista from FC Dallas in September 2020 for €2.5 million. That move, however, was always going to be temporary as it was expected that Cannon was going to join Lille after just one season.
Market Value
The change of ownership at Lille has meant that that transfer is no longer in the cards. Nonetheless, Cannon is expected to leave Boavista this summer. The right-back is currently being scouted by teams in Germany and Spain. According to a report by CBS Sports, there is a "99% chance" that Cannon will leave Boavista this summer with Serie A side Spezia now the favorites to land the player.
Cannon has had a strong season in Portugal. The 22-year-old has managed 32 appearances across all competitions for Boavista and has seen his market value increase from €3 million to €3.5 million, which means he ranks among the 25 most valuable US men's national team players. Dallas would receive a significant portion of any potential transfer with the sell-on expected to be in the region of 20%.
