Owen Hargreaves has heaped praise on Arsenal ahead of their Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich by comparing them to Manchester United's 2008 team that dominated Europe.

The former United and Bayern Munich star has been mesmerised by Arsenal's performances in the Premier League and across cup competitions this season, claiming Mikel Arteta's side have 'no weakness' for the first time in 10 years.

The Gunners can put one-foot in the Champions League's last-four by beating Thomas Tuchel's side in London and Hargreaves is convinced they have a strong chance of doing so.

Harry Kane's stunning goalscoring performances for the German giants provides the visitors with their greatest chance to cause an upset in England's capital, but Hargreaves is expecting a dominant Arsenal showing.

The 43-year-old previously helped United lift European football's top honour 16-years ago alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and explained there are similarities between that title-winning side and Arsenal.

'This Arsenal team reminds me of the united team we played on. Well, we were very lucky,' Hargreaves told TNT Sports. 

'We kind were blessed. We had everything we could play the possession game, we could out score you, Defensively, we were very good. Good on set pieces. 

'This Arsenal team for the first time in a decade. I don't think they have a weakness. They can play in any style and I don't think they'll fear Bayern Munich. 

'So I think they can be confident and they're the better team right now. I think looking at those teams, I think they'll probably show it. 

'I think they'll be full of belief and I think this crowd is in for a treat tonight,' he added.

Bayern have previously heaped misery on Arsenal at the Emirates during Arsene Wenger's reign but face a different type of opponent altogether with Arteta at the helm.

The German giants have limped their way to second-place in the Bundesliga this season, while Arsenal are currently top of the Premier League standings.
