NBA shooting guard Josh Hart has jokingly insisted Chelsea need to be issued a transfer ban as the club continue to add to their already bloated squad this summer.

The 29-year-old is a die-hard Blues fan, having previously donated money to help supporters groups fund banners at Stamford Bridge.

Hart also once voiced his displeasure on social media after Jorginho completed a cross-London switch to rivals Arsenal in January 2023.

But the New York Knicks guard's latest foray onto Twitter concerned the club's slew of new arrivals in the transfer market this summer.

Ahead of Todd Boehly's second full season at the helm Chelsea have continued making a number of additions to their playing squad, with Enzo Maresca looking to put his stamp on the side he took over in June.

The latest acquisition is set to be that of Wolves star Pedro Neto, with the Portugal international to undergo a medical in the coming days as part of a deal that will see him become the club's ninth signing since the window reoponed.

After seeing two bids rejected for the winger, the Blues have now agreed a move worth an initial £51.4million for the 24-year-old, taking their overall spend for the summer close to £200m.

While a new arrival is generally the cause for celebration among a club's supporter base, concerns have been growing over the potential implications that could arise from such a bloated squad.

Hart wasted no time expressing his view on the prospective transfer, responding on X to a tweet detailing the soon-to-be-completed move: 'Give us a transfer ban please'.

Despite the club's sizeable spend this summer, Neto is not expected to be the final new arrival for the Blues this summer.

The club are currently in the process of signing Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid in a deal that is understood to be worth £34.5m.

The Spain youth international impressed on loan at LaLiga side Alaves last season but has never made a senior appearance for the Colchoneros having arrived at the Spanish side the prior summer for just 5.1m.

Meanwhile the search for a striker is still underway at Stamford Bridge, with £98m man Romelu Lukaku expected to depart permanently this summer after spending the previous two campaigns on loan in Serie A.

Napoli are reportedly interested in Belgium's all-time record goalscorer which could potentially provide helpful leverage in the Chelsea's long-running pursuit of Victor Osimhen.

The Nigeria international has been Napoli's top scorer for the last three seasons and is said to be keen on a move to west London but would prefer to move permanently with Chelsea reportedly chasing a potential loan deal.
