WATCH: Diallo opens the scoring

Not a bad way to open scoring, right?

If you haven't had the chance to see it yet, here is Amad Diallo's brilliant opener.

The dribble, the strike, and even the celebration. All brilliant.

Watch, and enjoy, Manchester United fans!

Two from two for Spurs

Tottenham have got the job done.

A goal in each half from Yves Bissouma and Dane Scarlett means they come away from QPR with the win.

That's two wins from two now for Ange Postecoglou's men in pre-season.

They are looking very good...

Dazzling Diallo

Where to start with Amad Diallo...

He has been simply sensational so far in Edinburgh. Rangers can't get near him.

Jefte is going to have nightmares about the Ivorian winger when he goes to sleep tonight, he has him spinning.

His goal was superbly taken to, he did what he had been doing all match before curling the ball into the corner.

A star in the making.

HALF-TIME: Rangers 0-1 Man United

There goes the whistle, Man United lead at the break.

They are more than good for their lead too, Erik ten Hag's men have been superb in Edinburgh.

Amad Diallo has been the star of the show and it's his goal that separates the two sides at the break.

I can only see this going one way, as it stands.

16:00, 45'
rangers.png
man_utd.png

CLOSE! Rangers 0-1 Man United

So close from Jadon Sancho.

Amad Diallo yet again rinses Jefte on the right, he drifts past the defender before picking out Sancho on the edge of the area.

You expect the net to ripple, but leaning back Sancho fires over the bar.

It should be 2-0, simple as that.

15:59, 44'

man_utd.png

Rangers 0-1 Man United

What a star Amad Diallo is, he is going to play a key role for Manchester United this season.

Just last year he could barely get a kick, but toward the end of the campaign, he started to show what he is about.

Based on this display, his confidence is only growing. A brilliant display.

15:54, 39'

man_utd.png

Goal: Rangers 0-1 Man United (Diallo 39')

It just had to be Amad Diallo, didn't it?

The Ivorian winger has been a thorn in Rangers' side all half and he gets his just rewards.

Diallo cuts inside from the right and past Jefte, before pulling the trigger on the edge of the area.

It's a brilliant curling effort and it flies past Jack Butland and into the bottom corner.

Reminiscent of Bukayo Saka's goal against Switzerland. A cracker.

queens_park_rangers.png

Dane Scarlett doubles Spurs' lead

And that should be that for Spurs.

Just moments after coming on, youngster Dane Scarlett taps home to make it two.

It looks like it's going to be two wins from two in pre-season for Ange Postecoglou's men.

15:53, 37'
rangers.png
man_utd.png

Rangers 0-0 Man United

Ooooh, that's pretty poor defensively from Manchester United.

Leny Yoro is the culprit of a lapse in concentration and he gives the ball away.

Rangers launch the counter and look dangerous, but Andre Onana ends up with the ball in his hands.

Rangers fail to take advantage.

15:51, 35'
rangers.png
man_utd.png

Rangers 0-0 Man United

The chances are starting to flow in this one.

Scott Wright races through for Rangers but rushes his effort and fires wide. He has to do much better.

Then up the other end Casemiro forces Jack Butland into a low save.

I'm enjoying this one, that's for sure.

15:48, 32'
rangers.png
man_utd.png

Rangers 0-0 Man United

That's much better from Rangers.

Scott Wright sends in a low cross toward Cyriel Dessers - who has his back to goal - in the area.

Dessers turns Jonny Evans brilliantly and pulls the trigger, but his strike is tame and easy for Andre Onana.

15:45, 30'
rangers.png
man_utd.png

Rangers 0-0 Man United

Mason Mount tries to find Leny Yoro at the back post with a floating free-kick.

I think it's fair to say that it's not the best delivery he has ever pinged into the box.

He roars with frustration as the ball ends up in the gloves of Jack Butland.

15:43, 28'
rangers.png
man_utd.png

Rangers 0-0 Man United

Rangers are really struggling to get on to the ball here.

With every passing minute, Manchester United gain more and more control. They are bossing this match.

The score is still level, though. I feel it may not be for long.

15:40, 23'
rangers.png
man_utd.png

CLOSE! Rangers 0-0 Man United

Ooofftt, that is very close!

Amad Diallo decides to take the free-kick himself and fizzes the ball inches wide of the post.

I thought that was in, I really did.

15:38, 22'
rangers.png
man_utd.png

Rangers 0-0 Man United

Amad Diallo is at it again for Manchester United.

He cuts inside and burns past a Rangers defender for being hacked down just outside the area.

United have a free-kick just outside the area in a very dangerous position...

man_utd.png

CLOSE! Rangers 0-0 Man United

This match is suddenly hotting up a little.

Amad Diallo shows his pace again as he burns down the right-hand side.

He spots Ethan Wheatley in the middle and pings across a sizzling ball for him, but Wheatley's strike is tipped over.

That is a real chance, Wheatley should do better.

15:32, 17'
rangers.png
man_utd.png

Rangers 0-0 Man United

Now that is an audacious effort.

Tom Lawrence is in miles of space as he has his sights set on goal following a quick free-kick.

He decides to have a crack from 30 yards out and it whistles wide and high of the mark.

Not very accurate, but very powerful.

15:30, 15'
rangers.png
man_utd.png

Rangers 0-0 Man United

Man United are enjoying a lot of the ball but they are struggling to break this Rangers side down.

And I must add, after all my hyping up of the atmosphere before kick-off, it's rather flat at Murrayfield.

15:27, 10'
rangers.png
man_utd.png

BIG TACKLE! Rangers 0-0 Man United

Leny Yoro, that is a superb tackle.

The new Manchester United signing uses his long legs to wrap them around the ball to take it away Cyriel Dessers in the area as he tries to race away.

He had to make that tackle, and my word did he make it in style.

What a superb opening 10 minutes in a Manchester United shirt - Virgil van Dijk-esque.

rangers.png
man_utd.png

CHANCE! Rangers 0-0 Man United

Amad Diallo is a little live wire, isn't he?

He does brilliantly well by the byline and drives into the area before winning a corner.

The move was started from the boot of Leny Yoro as he sent a lovely switch pass over to Sam Murray, before the ball was crossed to Diallo.

Casemiro meets the eventual corner, heading inches wide.

rangers.png
man_utd.png

Rangers 0-0 Man United

Leny Yoro seems as relaxed as you can be for a debut.

In the couple of instances he has been involved in so far, the young centre-back has looked more than assured.

A good opening few minutes from the young laddy!

Rangers 0-0 Man United

Oh dear, Mohamed Diomande.

The new Rangers attacker decides to try and deceive Andre Onana by going for goal from a free-kick where you'd expect him to cross.

It's fair today, Onana never needed to worry. Not the best of efforts, it goes wide.

rangers.png
man_utd.png

Rangers 0-0 Man United

Come on, Cyriel Dessers, it's only a friendly...

The Rangers forward goes down holding his face, and rolls around for a bit too long for my liking.

He catches a stray arm from Jonny Evans, but come on, no need to try and get him red-carded.

It shows that this won't be a 'friendly'.

KICK-OFF: Rangers 0-0 Man United

The wait is over, at last.

Rangers get the ball rolling in Edinburgh to an enormous roar from the stands.

Will Manchester United down the Scots across the border, or can Rangers hand United a second loss on the bounce in pre-season?

rangers.png
man_utd.png

Ground filling up

It seems fans are finally getting bums on seats.

You can tell from the level of noise inside Murrayfield that it is nearly full, which is great news.

It means we have less than five minutes until we finally get underway!

Teams out on the turf

A mix of boos and cheers come from the stand as Manchester United arise from the tunnel.

They have taken to the pitch to do an extra little warm-up In the final few minutes before kick-off.

Got to keep that blood pumping with kick-off being delayed, haven't you?

Rangers then follow soon after and there are certainly no boos for them. The crowd roars as the Gers show their face.

The atmosphere could be cracking today.

rangers.png
man_utd.png

Breaking: Kick-off delayed until 4.15pm

Boos ring around Murrayfield.

Why, you ask? Because it has just been announced that kick-off has been delayed by 15 minutes.

We have just found out that fans are struggling to get into the ground, queues are still long outside the stadium.

Let's hope they are all in soon.

queens_park_rangers.png

Tottenham lead at the break

The half-time whistle has gone in west London.

Yves Bissouma's fantastic goal has Spurs in a slender lead over QPR. It was a goal worthy of winning any game.

This match is not over yet, although going off Spurs' second-half performance against Hearts, it soon could be.

Lot's still to play for.

Ten Hag: 'Sancho and I drew a line and moved on'

Erik ten Hag, Manchester United boss, speaking on Jadon Sancho:

We spoke well. Everyone can make a mistake. We draw a line and move on. This club needs good players and one thing is certain - Jadon is a very good player. I hope it will click and contribute to our success.

Tottenham take the lead

There has been a goal in west London, but for who...

As you can see by the sub-heading, it's Spurs that have taken the initiative against QPR just before half-time.

May I say, what a blooming goal this is by Yves Bissouma.

A truly magnificent individual goal.

Today's venue

Some of you may be confused as to why this isn't being played at Ibrox, right?

Well, it just isn't.

Instead, Manchester United are doing battle with Rangers at Murrayfield - Scotland's rugby stadium - in Edinburgh.

I mean, it is stunning.

United take to the pitch

Kick-off is edging closer, and closer.

In truth, I am really excited about this match. I don't usually get too hyped up about friendlies, but today feels different.

Erik ten Hag's men have now taken to the turf to run through their final preparations.

You can see that their squad is already getting stronger just by seeing who is going out there.

Not too shabby.

rangers.png
man_utd.png

It's been a while...

It feels like a lifetime since we last saw these two teams meet.

For some young fans, it will be.

Rangers and Manchester United last faced in November 2010 in a Champions League group stage match.

In a tight affair, United ran out 1-0 winners at Ibrox thanks to a Wayne Rooney penalty.

Hopefully, there are more goals today...

Seeing double?

I had to take a double take for a second.

Erik ten Hag and Philippe Clement have had a little chat while their side went out to warm up.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't think they looked similar at first glance, but after a while, it's easy to tell the difference.

Both seem happy in each other's company, that's for sure.

Tottenham take on QPR

Manchester United are not the only Premier League side in action today.

Tottenham's second pre-season match is already underway, they are taking on Championship side QPR at Loftus Road.

Donning their new away kit, Ange Postecoglou has gone fairly strong with his line-up in west London.

Son Heung-Min, Brennan Johnson, Timo Werner, and Pape Sarr are all playing.

The match is currently 0-0 with 25 minutes gone.

Return of the Sanch

Well, well, well...

I must admit, it seemed like there was no way back for Jadon Sancho at Manchester United, but times seem to have changed.

The English winger's tumultuous relationship with Erik ten Hag may seemingly be on the mend as he gets his chance to show what he has got in his locker.

On his day, Sancho is spectacular.

If this is a sign that he will get minutes for United this season, that is worrying for other teams in the Premier League.

Rangers Team News

And in the blue corner...

Philippe Clement has named the 11 players he wants to do battle with Manchester United in Edinburgh.

Former Man United star Jack Butland is upon those who start for Rangers, taking his place between the sticks.

It's going to be a memorable day for many of these stars, no matter what happens.

Man United Team News - Yoro STARTS

We will indeed!

It took us just one minute to answer our own question - Leny Yoro does indeed get his first start for Manchester United.

The 18-year-old defender will line up next to Jonny Evans in the hearts of United's defence.

There is also a start for Jadon Sancho...

At one point, some people thought he may never play for United under Erik ten Hag - but here he is.

rangers.png
man_utd.png

Look, Leny's here...

Here is the man of the hour, Leny Yoro.

Manchester United's newest recruit is in the house this evening after only signing two days ago.

So, what can we expect from the 18-year-old? He has been hyped up after his performances in a Lille shirt.

Will we get to see him from the start?

We will find out very soon...

United go north of the border

Now this is going to be a cracker!

Not all pre-season matches fill people with excitement, but today's encounter between Rangers and Manchester United is sure to get those taste buds tingling.

The biggest team in England against one of the top two teams in Scotland. It may be a friendly but there is a lot on the line.

Erik ten Hag's side will be looking to bounce back from disappointment against Rosenborg in their first pre-season encounter.

Rangers won't let them have it all their own way, though.

Right, let's get into the action at Murrayfield!
