Barcelona's signing of Emerson Royal has put Sergino Dest in a difficult situation. The American international's future at the Camp Nou has been thrown into doubt, just a year after landing in Catalonia.

Ronald Koeman's continuation as Barcelona boss has been seen by some as a positive sign for Dest, but Emerson's arrival has added direct competition for his place in the team and he'll have to prove himself worthy of a place in the Dutchman's XI going forward.

Rumours are now circulating that he could be on his way out this summer, though they are fuelled by the interest of other clubs. He has, however, expressed his desire to stay at the Camp Nou.

Dating back to his time at Ajax, Bayern Munich have shown themselves to be interested in Dest's services, and could come knocking again if he does decide to call time on his stay in LaLiga Santander.
