Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson could be in line for a massive new deal as the club looks to stave off interest in their No 1 from Saudi Arabia.

According to The Sun, the Blues want to prevent Al-Nassr from luring the Brazilian to the Saudi Pro League, with an incredible £900,000-a-week deal – plus a bumper signing-on fee.

Despite no concrete offer coming in from the Saudi club, City will open talks next week to offer Ederson a new deal that could see his pay rise by 75 per cent.

The report says that while City won't be able to come anywhere near matching the Saudi club's rumoured terms, they would look to increase Ederson's pay packet to nearly £1million per month.

Now 30, a new deal would mean City get to keep Ederson at the Etihad for the remainder of his peak years, and signal how important a figure he remains at the club.

Ederson has been a pivotal figure in City's recent era of Premier League dominance, and has been central to the 16 trophies they've won since signing from Benfica in a £34million deal, seven years ago. 

And while the Brazilian shot-stopper has always been effusive in his love for City, with just two years left on his current contract, a huge payday and the opportunity to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo could prove tempting.

If Ederson did have his heart set on joining Al-Nassr, it's believed City would not stand in his way, yet they wouldn't let him go for anything less than £50million.

City have recently handed back-up keeper Stefan Ortega a new deal, showing faith in the German after impressing in Ederson's absence last season.
