Leicester City have made contact with Graham Potter over their vacant managerial post, according to reports.

The former Brighton and Chelsea manager has been out of work since being asked by the Blues midway through the 2022-23 campaign, although he has been linked with a return several times.

He had been strongly connected with taking over at Ajax during the end of the 2023-24 season, only for reports to emerge that he had rejected the Dutch giants.

Now, he is being linked with a return to English football and the Premier League, with the Foxes looking for a new manager after the departure of Enzo Maresca

Maresca, ironically, left Leicester for Chelsea, and Potter is thought to be considered as a 'serious candidate', according to Fabrizio Romano.

The report claims that the Foxes have made contact with Potter, and they are viewing the 49-year-old as a serious candidate.

Potter has also been linked with the England job with Gareth Southgate's future beyond the European Championship as yet up in the air.

Potter is available but his inactivity since being sacked by Chelsea in April 2023 may count against him.

Leicester meanwhile are looking to solidify their return to the Premier League after a surprise relegation in 2022-23.

Maresca's side tore through the Championship to finish on 97 points with 31 wins from 46 games, however the Italian was quickly poached by Chelsea after Mauricio Pochettino left the Stamford Bridge club by mutual consent.

Key to that success was of course club legend Jamie Vardy, who netted 20 times and is sure to continue to play a crucial role at the King Power as they return to the top-flight at the first time of asking.

Vardy has since signed a one-year contract extension, taking his stay at the Foxes into a 13th campaign.
