'Did he expect me to score for him?' Eintracht Frankfurt ballboy left baffled by David Moyes after the infuriated West Ham manager was sent off for kicking the ball in frustration at him during his side's Europa League defeat

The ball boy at the centre of the David Moyes red card controversy has said he did not understand why the West Ham manager was angered by him.

Moyes kicked the ball at the long haired youth who was handing the ball back after it went out of play.

The youngster sarcastically waved Moyes off as he stomped angrily down the tunnel after being sent from the touchline by Spanish referee Jesus Gil Manzano.

Eintracht Frankfurt, who had a meeting with UEFA on Friday, will take no action against the youngster and are protecting his identity.

But the lad has said of Moyes: ‘What did he expect from me... to put the goal in the Eintracht net for him?’

The German club said the youth did not want to comment.

A spokesman told MailOnline: ‘The situation is over and the total focus is on the next games, also for the boy.’

Moyes has issued an apology over the incident.

But UEFA will also examine heat-of-the-moment comments by Declan Rice who swore at the referee in the tunnel, slammed his competence and accused him of being corrupt.
