Liverpool supporters have been quick to highlight Darwin Nunez's reaction to Jurgen Klopp's farewell guard of honour amid speculation over the Uruguayan forward's future. 

Klopp bowed out on a high after a 2-0 victory against Wolves on Sunday, his final match in charge of the club after a nine and a half year spell.

The outgoing boss emerged after the full-time whistle to deliver one last message to the crowd at Anfield.

His players had lined up on either side of the tunnel for Klopp and his departing backroom staff to walk through and receive a rapturous reception from supporters.

Some Liverpool fans noted that Nunez, while lined up in the guard of honour with his team-mates, had a muted reaction as Klopp made his way through.

The Liverpool fan claimed 'He clapped for every other player & member of staff that walked through but made a point of not doing so for Klopp.'

Another supporter wrote 'I actually feel sick, I can't believe Nunez didn't applaud Klopp'.

Liverpool players had gathered to send off the legendary boss at the end of their final Premier League match of the season at Anfield.

Away from the pitch, Klopp gave an emotional speech to the players for the final time in the dressing room.

The 56-year-old started off by insisting that he was more than happy with his team's season despite missing out on the Premier League title.

'The football you are able to play is absolutely ridiculous,' he said. 'I can't wait, watching you developing, making the next steps.'

After being told that Manchester City had won their fourth title in a row - with Liverpool the last team to stop them in 2020 - Klopp added: 'You can do that again. I said to you this morning. There might be some people that say to you "that's not enough", I tell you, they don't have a clue about football.

The forward was spotted with his hand on his head looking down in the dressing room as Klopp spoke to the group.

However, another fan shared footage of Nunez celebrating with Klopp as he enjoyed a final night out with players on Sunday.

Nunez was seen in a circle of Liverpool players as the outgoing manager danced in the city last night.

The end of season event took place at the Titanic Hotel in the Royal Albert Dock. 

The venue hosted a sit-down meal, before turning into a late night party. 

Nunez, who has had a mixed two seasons since an £85m move from Benfica, has been strongly backed by Klopp despite facing criticism.

The forward fuelled speculation over his future earlier this month by deleting every photo of him in a Reds shirt from his Instagram page.

Nunez deleted the photos following a barrage of abuse from fans.

Mail Sport reported that there is no indication that Liverpool are in a hurry to give up on Nunez after just two seasons.
